arabian cook : Thyme Pastries
One of the most famous
Lebanease pastries.
½ quantity basic dough recipe (exclude
oil and add 1 tspn yeast dissolved in ¼
cup of water)
6 tbls thyme (zahtar)
½ cup olive oil
--------------------------------------
Set oven at (250°C).
Divide dough into rounds. Cover
with cloth for 15 minutes. Roll
out each round to medium
thickness (8 cm diameter) on
floured board.
Place rounds on greased baking
sheet. Mix zahtar and oil
together. Spread mixture evenly
over the rounds. Bake for 15
minutes in a moderately hot
oven (180°C).
Serve for breakfast or for a
snack.
